Types of Glass for Canopies
Tempered and laminated glass
Tempered glass is known to have mechanical strength up to five times greater than that of standard float glass, and laminated glass completely eliminates the risk of shards falling in the event of an impact, as the fragments are held in place by the interlayer. It is the best choice for large openings, high-traffic areas, and anywhere where passive safety is a priority.
Glass with ceramic printing
Does not fade, does not peel, and is weather-resistant over the long term. Through the tempering process, the patterns, colors, and graphic images created using ceramic printing technology are permanently fused into the glass surface. This is the ideal option for commercial spaces with branding or visual identity requirements.

TDC Glass does not produce standard sizes. Each project begins with technical consultation and on-site measurements, continues with the design and fabrication of the panels on our own production line, and concludes with professional installation and a warranty.

What glass thickness is recommended for a canopy?
The thickness ranges from 8 to 20 mm depending on the panel dimensions and estimated loads—snow weight, wind pressure, and clear opening. The optimal thickness is determined during the design phase, following measurements and an analysis of the specific site conditions.
Can you produce canopies in special shapes?
Yes. TDC Glass has CNC equipment for cutting and finishing complex shapes, including semicircles, trapezoids, and pieces with cutouts. Special shapes are available in both tempered and laminated glass.
How does ceramic-printed glass perform outdoors?
The ceramic print is permanently fused into the glass surface during the tempering process. It is not a post-applied coating—it does not peel, fade, or discolor, and it is resistant to UV rays, moisture, and long-term temperature fluctuations.
