Available Mounting Systems
The mounting system is selected based on the existing structural framework, the height of the railing, and aesthetic preferences.
The TDC Glass, our technical team analyzes each project and recommends the optimal solution in collaboration with system suppliers.

Juliet Balconies
A fixed system installed directly in front of a door or window opening, without an external platform. The glass is secured to the floor or the exterior wall—a solution frequently chosen for residential apartment buildings and office buildings.

Aluminum profile — U-channel at the base
The glass is secured in an aluminum channel mounted to the floor, with no top support. Clean appearance, with no visible elements on the surface of the glass. It can be complemented with a stainless steel or wooden handrail.

Single-point connections
The glass is secured with stainless steel bolts or braces mounted at specific points—on the floor or wall. Minimalist design, maximum visibility of the glass.

Mullions
Vertical pillars made of stainless steel or aluminum with glass panels attached to the sides. High structural rigidity; recommended for tall railings, exposed terraces, or public spaces with strict structural requirements.

Spigot
Short stainless steel supports mounted at the base of the glass in the floor. This system ensures maximum visibility—the glass appears to float without any support. A popular choice for premium residential pools and patios.
Types of Glass for Railings

Safety glass — for private residential spaces
Standard Glass for private residences—interior staircases, balconies, and residential terraces. Upon impact, it breaks into small, rounded granules with no sharp edges.

Security and laminated glass — public spaces
For office buildings, hotels, and public spaces, technical regulations require laminated glass (VSG). The fragments remain attached to the PVB interlayer—the pane stays in place even if the glass breaks, eliminating the risk of falling.

Glass with ceramic print — for decorative railings
Any graphic design—whether a geometric pattern, color gradient, or custom graphic—can be printed on glass and permanently fused into the material during the tempering process. The printed glass can be used as-is in its tempered form or incorporated into a laminated panel for applications with more stringent structural requirements. Resistant to UV rays, moisture, and mechanical wear, it is an elegant solution for premium residential projects, hotels, and restaurants where the railing is an integral part of the design concept.
Integrated consulting and solutions
TDC Glass analyzes project requirements and recommends both the appropriate type of glass and the right mounting system, in collaboration with specialized system suppliers. You will receive a comprehensive, technically validated solution from a single point of contact.
Frequently Asked Questions
What type of glass is required for railings?
For private residences, tempered glass is used as standard. In public spaces, regulations require the highest safety standard: safety glass and laminated glass.
Which mounting system is suitable for a residential terrace?
It depends on the floor structure and aesthetic preferences. Spigots and U-profiles provide the cleanest look, while mullions ensure greater structural rigidity. The TDC Glass technical team analyzes the specific conditions and recommends the optimal solution.
Can the appearance of the glass used for railings be customized Yes.
It can be emailed or printed with ceramic designs—a permanent digital print that fuses into the glass during the tempering process. The printed glass can be used in its safety version or subsequently incorporated into a laminated glass panel. The aesthetic customization does not affect the structural properties of the glass.
How much does a glass railing cost?
The price varies depending on the total area, the type of glass, the mounting system, and the complexity of the installation. Request a personalized quote, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Do you offer installation as well, or just glass manufacturing?
TDC Glass provides a full range of services: technical consulting, in-house fabrication, recommendations for fastening systems, and installation with a warranty on the work.
