Digital ceramic printing on glass — state-of-the-art technology
Digital ceramic printing on glass is a process in which ceramic inks are applied via digital printing and permanently fused into the glass surface during heat treatment at temperatures exceeding 650°C.
TDC Glass is one of the few processors in Romania that owns and operates industrial equipment dedicated to this process—the Vitro Jet FC8 manufactured by Tecglass (Spain).Vitro Jet FC8 — specificații tehnice

Vitro Jet FC8 - technical specifications
TDC Glass produces custom ceramic-printed glass using the Vitro Jet FC8, equipped with 8 print heads and a 1,440 dpi printing resolution. With a maximum processing size of 3,900 × 2,450 mm, it offers one of the largest ceramic digital printing formats available on the local market.
Our investment in the Vitro Jet FC8 allows us to help our partners transform any architectural vision into a durable reality, using the largest printing format available in the region.
The equipment integrates three exclusive Tecglass technologies.
TIFT, SDT, and VDS technologies work together to deliver precise, stable, and efficient ceramic printing, from fine details to surfaces requiring dense coverage.
TIFT
(Tecglass Ink Flow Technology)
A patented continuous ink recirculation system that circulates ink through the print heads. It eliminates the need for daily solvent cleaning, prevents nozzle clogging, and ensures consistent quality throughout the entire production run.
SDT
(Simultaneous Drying Technology)
The ink is dried simultaneously with printing by units positioned on both sides of the print head. The glass can be transferred immediately to the tempering furnace, with no processing delays and no risk of contaminating the freshly printed surface.
VDS
(Variable Drop Size)
The print heads automatically adjust the droplet volume between 12 and 84 picolitres. Smaller droplets are used for fine details, gradients, and high-resolution images, while larger droplets ensure uniform opaque coverage at high production speeds. No manual adjustments are required between jobs with different specifications.
- The process
TDC Production Workflow
From digital artwork to printed tempered glass.
The entire process is carried out in-house at the TDC Glass factory under controlled production conditions.
01File Preparation
The ceramic color profile is prepared in-house, with adjustments to compensate for ink behavior during the tempering process.
02Industrial Washing
The glass surface is thoroughly cleaned to ensure optimal ink adhesion.
03Printing
The Vitro Jet FC8 applies ceramic inks according to the approved artwork, with simultaneous drying using SDT technology.
04Thermal Tempering
The printed glass enters the Tamglass HTF Super tempering furnace. At temperatures above 650°C, the ceramic inks permanently fuse with the glass surface. The finished product is EN 12150-certified tempered glass with an integrated ceramic print.
05Quality Control
Each glass panel undergoes visual and dimensional inspection before delivery.
Printing and tempering are carried out under one roof, ensuring complete process traceability and eliminating the risks associated with transferring products between different suppliers.
Why Choose TDC Glass?
Our advanced production technology delivers tangible advantages for your project:
High Color Accuracy
The 1,440 dpi printing resolution combined with VDS technology ensures precise reproduction of any design, from high-resolution photographs to complex graphic patterns.
Shorter Lead Times
SDT simultaneous drying technology eliminates production delays between printing and tempering, reducing overall manufacturing time.
Consistent Quality Across Every Production Run
The TIFT system and the electromagnetic actuation of the print heads minimize variations and printing defects, ensuring reliable and repeatable results.
Maximum Flexibility
From fully opaque designs to fine photographic prints, every project is processed without additional machine adjustments between production jobs.
Jumbo Formats Without Joints
Glass sizes up to 3,900 × 2,450 mm, ideal for large architectural façades and oversized glazing applications.
No Mold Costs or Minimum Production Runs
Complete customization regardless of quantity, from a single glass panel to full-scale serial production.
Complete In-House Production Control
From the digital artwork to the finished product, both printing and tempering are carried out in the same TDC Glass facility.
